Finally Traveling?!
Whether you'll be gone for one month or one week, packing your things smoothly can be what makes or breaks your trip. You need to make sure you have everything you need without resorting to a cumbersome bag that will be difficult to lug around.
To help you out, we’ve combed through advice from several pack hackers and combined all the best ones into this convenient guide filled with tips for packing efficiently:
Gather before packing.

Gathering your things in one place before actually packing them is smart and practical. Don’t just start stuffing your bag with things you want to bring. Lay them all out neatly on a flat surface like your bed, sofa, or table. Once you group them together, weed out the things you can do without such as something you can buy at your destination, and plan the most efficient way to fit them all into your suitcase.
Pack for the destination.
You’ve probably already pictured the cute outfits you’ll be wearing for your vacation but always keep your specific destination in mind when packing. What’s already available at the venue and what will you absolutely need to bring? For example, all-inclusive resort packing will be very different from packing for a downtown city vacation. Being more familiar with where you’re going will keep you from over packing as well as not packing enough.
Choose luggage-friendly fabrics.
Few packing tips mention the type of clothes to bring but choosing outfits made with travel-friendly fabrics will actually save you a lot of grief. So what exactly is travel-friendly clothing? These are clothes made of fabrics that won’t wrinkle in your luggage. And, they’re versatile pieces you can wear any time so you’re never over or under dressed where you’re going. Our wrap dress is perfect for a business meeting or a more sophisticated night-time look.
Roll your clothes.
Learning how to fold clothes to save space in luggage is a critical skill for frequent travelers. But rather than folding, one of the best way to pack is actually to roll your clothes. This is a space-saving trick that also reduces wrinkling. Additionally, rolled-up clothes make it easier to find the outfits you want to wear and will keep your bag more organized throughout your trip.

Stuff your shoes.
Ideally, you would only bring your smartest pair and wear them throughout the duration of your trip. But if you must bring multiple pairs of shoes, you need to know how to pack them properly so they don’t take over your luggage. Maximize your space by stuffing your shoes with socks and rolled-up clothes. Make sure you place them in their own shoe bags to keep them from dirtying your clothes. Depending on the type of bag we are taking, like carry-on suitcase or a larger international backpack, here at GH Threads, we like to put our shoes on the very bottom for sturdy base.
Use bag organizers.
Instead of throwing all your stuff directly into your bag, organize them into smaller bags. All toiletries go in one place, medicines in another, shirts in the largest, etc. This doesn’t just work for small objects but your clothing as well. By keeping your stuff in their own containers, you’ll never need to dig throu
gh your luggage just to find a single item since you know exactly where to find them.
These packing tips can help you make the most of your travels by having everything you need without being inconvenienced by your luggage. Following the tips in this guide won’t just help you prepare for your trip but also ensure that you enjoy it thoroughly. After all, it has been a while, hasn’t it?
